UK SEND • Early help for every child • Built by a Chartered Educational Psychologist

Help that arrives early — so no child has to fail first.

Children thrive on relationships, belonging and joy — and those take adult time the system has taken away. So this platform carries the load instead: effective help in every teacher’s hands the moment a need shows, the educational psychologist involved early, the paperwork done by the platform — so most children never need the statutory route at all, and the adults around them get their time back for the work only people can do. And when a plan is genuinely needed, the evidence is already there — one record, every professional, tribunal-defensible the whole way, anchored in the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Code of Practice 2015, UK GDPR and KCSIE 2025.

Why we built it

Are we listening? For more than two decades, research has asked children what school feels like when it goes wrong, and the answer has not changed: they stop feeling they belong.

So this platform starts from a different place. Look after the adults around the child. Give them back the time for relationships. Belonging, confidence and joy follow — and most crises never happen. That chain is demonstrated, not promised: walk it on the live platform below.

The problem, in the system's own numbers

England's SEND system was built to help children — and it is buckling.

These are not our figures. They are the Department for Education's, the Tribunal service's, the British Psychological Society's and councils' own. They describe a system that helps too late, contests families it almost always loses, and consumes the very specialists who could have prevented the need in the first place.

718,838

Children and young people now hold an EHC plan, up 12.5% in a single year and more than double the 2016 number. Demand keeps climbing because meaningful support arrives only once a child is already in difficulty.

99%

Of the SEND appeals decided by the tribunal in 2024/25 went in the family's favour. Registered appeals rose 18% to 25,000, and of the 20,000 disposed of, 14,000 were decided at hearing. Families and councils both lose; only the dispute wins.

1 : 9,400

Pupils to every educational psychologist in the least-covered area, against 480 in the best-covered and a median of 2,600: a twenty-fold difference in whether a child is seen, because statutory assessment consumes the time that would have prevented the need.

It does not have to be this way.

Every one of those numbers is a child who waited too long. EdPsych Connect breaks the cycle at its source: effective early intervention, in every teacher’s hands, with the educational psychologist involved early — so most children get what they need without ever entering the statutory system, and the few who genuinely need a plan arrive with the evidence already gathered. The government is now asking every council for a plan to reduce demand. This is that plan — working, not on paper.

Not a promise — running today

Walk the platform yourself, through one child’s real journey.

Jamie Star is our demonstration child: an autistic boy whose needs were picked up early and met all the way to an EHC plan that works. Step into his story as any of the people around him — his mother, his teacher, the SENCo, the educational psychologist, the local authority — and move through the real, working platform at your own pace. Nothing to install; nothing you can break.

A guided, read-only walkthrough — explore freely, then register your interest below for early-partner access to the full working platform.

One child · the whole journey · the real platform

Or watch it unfold — the film.

The same journey, told as a film through the eyes of the people around Jamie. Every screen is the real, working platform. Captioned throughout.

More than the statutory process

It raises the floor for every child — long before a statutory route is ever needed.

Most of what a child needs is ordinary teaching, shaped well. EdPsych Connect builds that everyday layer first — so fewer children ever reach the statutory route at all, and those who do arrive with the evidence already gathered.

Differentiated learning, automatically

  • One lesson plan in — a version shaped to what the platform has learned about each pupil’s working memory, processing speed and attention comes out, and it learns from every lesson
  • Curriculum content made accessible to every cognitive profile
  • A library of 100+ research-backed Tier 1, 2 and 3 interventions — scheduled, assigned and progress-tracked

A companion that guides, never does the work

  • A voice-driven Personal Tutor that scaffolds learning — the child stays the agent, not the recipient
  • Quests and a motivation layer that make engagement the entry point to learning
  • Study Buddy reads disengagement early, before it becomes a gap

Wellbeing and progress, seen early

  • Universal wellbeing check-ins surface concern before it becomes crisis
  • Attendance and engagement signals flag the quietly struggling child early — against the DfE persistent-absence thresholds
  • Teachers reclaim hours from differentiation and evidence capture — time that returns to children

The deeper platform — and the statutory route, for the few who need it

Six pillars behind every child's journey.

Whether a child needs everyday support or, for the few who reach that point, the full statutory route, every workflow on EdPsych Connect cites the law it sits behind. No black boxes. No 'coming soon' inside the product.

What makes us different

Built by the practitioners who have to stand behind it.

Built by an EP

Designed and led by a practising Chartered, HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist with more than a decade across LA, school and tribunal work — built from first principles, at his own cost.

The human always in command

Our Professional Autonomy Charter is engineered in: the platform never forms the clinical view, never decides a child's needs, and never acts on a child without a recorded human decision. It carries the load; you keep the judgement.

Inspection-ready by default

When Ofsted, the SEND Tribunal or a Local Area SEND inspection asks, your evidence is already organised. Statute-anchored, time-stamped, exportable.

Voice-first · WCAG 2.2 AA

Voice input and voice output through every workflow. Accessibility-grade-AAA targeted on the parent and young-person surfaces.

UK-resident · GDPR by design

Data hosted in lhr1, transit-encrypted, audit-logged. Special-category data gated by an Article 9(2) decision engine.

The adoption blocker, solved

Your children’s data never has to leave your control.

The real reason SEND tools stall is trust: no Local Authority, school or educational psychologist wants their children’s records locked inside someone else’s database. So we built for the opposite. With Bring-Your-Own-Data, your records live in your own database — your infrastructure, your region, your retention rules — connected over strictly-verified TLS using your own certificate authority. You keep sovereignty; you can export everything and walk away at any time. We are the tool, never the owner of your data.

Your database

Connect your own PostgreSQL or MySQL. Your records are stored in your infrastructure, in your region — never pooled with anyone else’s.

Verified encryption

Connections use strict TLS (verify-full) with your own certificate authority — not a shared certificate, not a trust-us promise.

No lock-in

Export everything, at any time. The data is yours; if you ever leave, you take it with you in full.

Note from the founder

For years I have sat with the children a busy system learns to look past — the ones who quietly decide they are no good at school long before anyone reaches for a form. My doctoral research asked them what that felt like, and what they told me never left me: they were the ones not listened to.

I built EdPsych Connect so that help reaches them early — while a wobble is still a wobble, in every teacher’s hands, with the educational psychologist alongside long before a plan is ever needed. Most children never need the statutory route at all; for the few who genuinely do, the evidence is already there, and it holds. That is the order of things I teach my trainees, and it is the order this platform is built on — not a pivot from another sector, not a CRM dressed in education colours, but a platform built from first principles by the practitioner who still stands at tribunal.
